Matthew 18:11 [RE-DISCOVERY]
For the Son of Man has come to save THAT which was lost.
If something was lost, then that something had to be in the right place in the beginning. Meaning when we were created, we weren’t created as sinners but created in His image. However, we disobeyed, listening to another voice causing us to sin therefore giving up what we had before because of a lie. What did we have before? True and pure fellowship, no consciousness of sin and ultimately His image in us. When Jesus came in the flesh about 2,000 years ago, the first thing he preached was repentance because the Kingdom of God was at hand (and still is).
The word repentance has a bad wrap these days but it just means going back to what we once were and returning to the everlasting covenant. When we admit to and even renounce our shortcomings, faults, false identities conceived through our life circumstances, labels that others or our positions gave us and etc, we make full room for God in our hearts. To put it simply, if we let go of everything that wasn’t us in the first place, we are able to make room for the Kingdom of God in our lives. He came back to save THAT which was lost, His image in us, not because we’re sinners but because we’ve sinned. The justification for our wrongs were made 2,000 years ago through the blood of Jesus because of his love for us. It defies space and time because it’s still available to us now. All that’s left for us to do is choose.
I know this was a long time coming but wanted to share the core idea behind the rediscovery collection. It took awhile to wrap my head around what I was thinking about and how to even put it into words but here it is. I hope this is an encouragement to you all. You are all valuable in the sight of our Father. Love y’all.
